I've spent today propped up in front of my keyboard off work with a fux0red back *oof*. Still it has given me time to get some work done on the core. This should please the people who complain about the forum - I've completely rewritten it today in a marathon coding session heh. New features include the option to preview your post before you submit it and multi-restricted forums (ie, if you have 20 different userclasses set up you can set up 20 different forums which will be accessable only to the people in each class). I've also taken chris#2's advice and split the scripts into different files which dramatically increases the speed of the forum (render times show it's four times quicker). It also looks better as I've tweaked the display a bit. What comes next is the really big job - the upgrade script - I'm not looking forward to writing it as the database tables have changed dramatically since the last release. But I'm confident I can get a script written that will maintain your content, although I'd advise anyone wanting to try e107 to wait till v5.4b is released and install from scratch. Oh one other thing, please excuse the bugs in this site at the moment (stripslashes and parse functions mainly), I can't update the code until my local core is ready due to the database changes. The file upload page is also down for the time being, if you need to get any files to me please email them - thanks.
