vNES with Konami Code Activation v1.1

While pausing the game or during the title screen, the player could press the following sequence of buttons on the game controller: UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A (info via wikipedia) This plugin combines the two. The vNES plugin allows you to have classic NES games right inside your e107 website with no coding required. When you install the plugin, your visitors can enter the Konami Code on their keyboard - UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A - to access the plugin's emulator screen. The game included, Solar Wars, is a homebrew game developed by http://dpadhero.com. Games are easy to add - just add them to the plugin's games directory, and you're ready to go. You'll need to make sure any games you upload to the games directory end with a ".nes" extension - otherwise, they will not load in the emulator. When entering the Konami Code to activate the emulator, SolarWars will load automatically. If you would like to change the game that loads automatically to a different game, visit the plugin's configuration screen and select a new game. To load more games, place the ROM files ending with .nes extensions into the vNES/games directory, and they will automatically load up! The Plugin can then be accessed either by typing the Konami Code (up up down down left right left right B A) on any page, or by activating the vNES menu. The code is definitely more fun, but I added the menu in case you don't want to 'hide' the emulator in an easter egg. Note there is NO sitelink created when you install the plugin, because the entire idea is to use this plugin as an Easter Egg on your site. Updates in v1.1: I realized it was ugly in a lot of themes, so I've re-done the CSS so that it is much, much more universal, using the forum CSS. |
