While a few updates old, the easiest way to learn how to install, edit, and customize e107 is with the book Building Websites with e107 available in paperback or ebook from Packt Publishing https://www.packtpub.com/e107-content-management-websites/book

Anyone got a copy without giving up a credit card number? Yeah, it's free, but if you can avoid putting that number in another person's hands...

Anyhow, when was it last updated? The copyright is 2007, that should hold true still.
