I just wanted a place to put things I feel e107 needs to get to the next level. Not neccessarily in any order of priority, just thought's I've kept in my lil brain and want to let out.
1. Defined Management Team.
There should be some sort of hierarchy defined and visible within e107. It may now be just a bunch of school boy friends for all we know, but it's evolved beyond that now. There has to be some sort of organization created. Maybe even roles defined, voted on, or appointed to, for a set period of time.
2. Updated Website.
Sorry, but this is starting to look like a carpet my mom had in the 60's. We need to show off more... THIS site should be the cream of the crop.
2a. Links Page
ONE place where we can look and be pointed to find everything else.
e107 Plugin Sites e107 Theme Sites e107 'Country' sites Demo sites Training Sites Security Sites Wiki Pages
3)APPLICATION Page
A way to possibly apply to get involved. Used by the "Management Team" to determine needs and direct people, where their skills could be used within e107's family of contributors.
4) Separate Plugin Forum
I feel it would be a great benefit to have a plugin forum at plugins.e107.org. Possibly creating a forum for each plugin submitted and allowing the developer of that plugin (Current version) to manage that forum themselves as well as the e107 staff.
5) Separate Themes Forum at themes.e107.org.
Same reason, Organization. With 3 forums instead of one, there's not likely to be 3 times more posts, just better organized and more related to one another.
6) e107 Training site (I have planned on doing this myself, when my workload gets a bit smaller).
Including a lot of videos and step-by-step tutorials with a forum for related questions.
7) e107 Hacks site
Currently there is no Hack site, and it's not easy to put hacks here, or at e107 plugins, but many people create some useful hacks that others could used, until possibly added to the core, or plugins themselves.
I tried to get the old hack site back, but they seem to still be on vacation and I got no reply. Avoid that ad site...
8) e107 Translation site.
I don't know of any as yet, but there may be a use for one site, to have for communicating between all other sites. Some place where one could look to get translations, or offer help in actually translating language files from one language to another.
9) Plugin Test team.
I wrote about this a number of times. Creating a group to test plugins before they are released at plugins.e107. Share idea's on code to use for testing inputs, Looking for automated communication which shouldn't be there. etc....
No real 'blessing' as to being e107 secure or safe, but at least a look for obvious issues and reporting on it.
- more aktually (with news slider) Themes, more popularitiy. we have only old style Themes, the best themes with slider news are for paying. Show here we need free themes like this for wordpress [-link-]
- I think e107 is a not good name, we need a popular name

Why does everyone expect someone to create themes and plugins and give them away for free?
It's up to the individual to decide whether he/she wants to share their work freely or get some reward for the effort involved.
If you don't like having to pay for something a bit special, then that's tough. In the real world, nothing comes for free.
You have right, but with only good and free themes can a cms system became more popularity and user.
why is joomla and wordpress so popular, not because there are better then E107, because they have more good and free themes.
when we are popular like the joomla, then we have more coders and themers and we grow faster and faster.
Our problem ist the popularity. when I were a newbee, I would show at first what ist free CMS who has more plugins and Themes for free, and who has more of them ?
Back on topic, I have to disagree with some of what ChicksHateMe wrote. We have had too much fragmentation in the past and sites have come and gone, which is why plugins.e107 and themes.e107 were born
Because of the fragmentation when the person running the site lost interest a lot of valuable information was lost forever, particularly on theming
Having a theme and forum plugin at each satellite site will just let people post the same request numerous times, at plugins or themes and here at e107.org.
I have seen it all before, someone posts a request here and at the plugin/theme developers own site so the information gets more and more fragmented
A re organisation of the forums here at e107.org is the best solution as far as I'm concerned
As for training, well the wiki has numerous links to video tutorials created and hosted by 'Spinning Planet', but again no one seems to notice them so for that, it may be better to have a page here at e107.org with a list of the videos and links to them or even have them here at e107 but there are obvious bandwidth costs to consider.
There really isn't a simple answer to this I'm afraid, but the discussions will be read and followed to try and find the best compromise for all.
