If you look at TapaTalk [-link-] they have an app to intergrate any vBulletin, IPBoard, phpBB and SMF forums that instal the plugin for fast access via iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia
However they say after a formal request:
We don't have resource to support additional forum software but they can contact us to develop the plugin themselves, we provide technical support for third party forum software developer to develop plugin to work with Tapatalk.
So is anyone up to making it for e107?
I can provide a few $ as an incentive if you contact me via PM
I think the question you need to ask if tapatalk will support e107. i suppose the more people that show interest via there website the more compelled there developers will be to support it. so go forth everyone
I like how they tell you that you need to register with their site in order to get the API/etc information so you do so, and then when you go to the forums to download the starter kit it hands you a "oh, you have to register here too.". Jerks.
I grabbed the starter kit, but I am not promising it will get much farther than that right now. If someone else wishes to do this, by all means go ahead. However, since it's been more than 2 years, I don't think anyone is going to jump at this.
I'll throw my towel in to make this happen, but not any time soon. I'll take a look at the starter kit and see how much work this will involve and throw out a price for this. I'm going to treat this like any other pay-for project, so anyone wanting this to happen should study up on my pricing policy.
Hi To All, Well i've looked into the API and there are similarity with XMLRPC, but i was thinking if what we want is really a compatibility with this app or custom made app for e107. The problem is (or at least what i've encountered with Metaweblog plugin and the Wordpress iOS and Android apps) we will be "linked" to Tapatalk choice of developing. It would be nice to have an e107 "admin" app so we can build the server part (extending the metaweblog plugin) and the iOS / Android app. I've started to look into the Cordova Framework for iOS/Android but sure creating an e107 app from scracth will be a lot of effort... I'm unsure on what will be the best cost/efficiency to code a plugin with Tapatalk or build an App for e107? Ciao Rob
I think it would be best sticking to the tapatalk API's, no need to re-invent the wheel, and it would simply mean, one e107 plugin, and then utilise the already available tapatalk client on the respective mobile platform...
tapatalk all the way, its a fantastic, fast, and does what I need it to do on other forums, but really want it on mine... top requirements for me:
1) Read / Post 2) upload files 3) send / review private messages 4) moderator functions 5) respects class restricted forums 6) ability to view profiles
plus tapatalk is already available for iphone, ipad android, blackberry, chrome... just seems a little waste creating a new client when there is a perfectly good one available already?
